Online
Registration Service Options
IMOnline now offers two implementation options.
- Purchase and Own
- In this option, the customer will own the software and install
on the local web server, assuming all control of the program's
operation. All data will reside on the local web server. Technical
support for server operations would be provided by the customer's
technical personnel. The customer would pay a one time fee
for the program, with an optional service agreement which
would cover all email and phone support and upgrades to the
application. Over the long run, this is a cheaper alternative,
especially if purchased along side IMTrack. However, the customer
will be in charge of installing the application and making
sure everything is set up properly. Thus, deployment time
could be slower depending on the skills and time available
from on site technical personnel.
- Buy as Monthly Service -
In this option, the customer will run the registration from
our servers, paying a monthly fee. The monthly fee will cover
tech support and server charges. All data during registration
will reside on the Recreational Solutions web servers. Recreational
Solutions will install the application and make it available
under the domain CustomerName.IMTrackOnline.com. A minimum
1 year contract is required, and lower monthly rates are available
for 2 and 3 year commitments. Each contract includes a purchase
option at the expiration of the contract, allowing the customer
to choose at the end of each contract between continuing the
monthly service or transitioning to on site web servers.
Which option is best? That is up to each customer.
We have prided ourselves in providing solutions that allow our
customers to use the local web server for both our static (standings
and schedules) and dynamic (online registration) pages. We will
continue to provide those solutions. But if a customer wishes
to implement quicker or avoid the hassles of dealing with local
technical support to maintain their servers, using the monthly
service might be the way to go.
Finally, the customer's budget might have a
big say on which option to use. Purchasing involves a larger
upfront money commitment, while the monthly service option provides
stability for the budget, as each payment is billed monthly.
It is up to each customer to determine the option that best
meets their budget constraints.
